We are now recruiting a Tech specialist to become the Personal Assistant to Steve Saunders, our Aids and Equipment Officer. The main purpose of the role is to work as a personal assistant to the Aids and Equipment Officer providing a range of assistance including driving, secretarial, computer work, filing and general support where needed. Also, to take the lead on modern technology and provide a ‘Tech’ service to our clients.

ESVS’s Aids and Equipment Officer Steve is a busy man who needs a PA to assist him with his daily work. As the PA to the A&E Officer you will be expected to carry out a diverse range of duties that will be ever changing. You would be working in a busy office with other members of staff and will be asked to assist in any number of projects going on at ESVS. As Steve is blind a key part of the role will be driving around the county, so a clean driving licence and use of a car is essential. This role has a specific responsibility in relation to modern tech support, so a key part of the role is about offering Tech support to our members. You will need to be confident with Android, iPhone, Tablet computers and smart hubs. You will also be required to transport, and work with, Rosie, Steve’s guide dog. The role requires a flexibility to the hours which can include evenings and weekends.

We are looking for an outgoing and friendly individual with excellent communication skills who can work flexibly within a team, manage competing priorities and use their initiative to anticipate and solve problems. You should be a confident self-starter able to prioritise workloads and client needs, ideally with experience of managing/working with disabled people or other similar bodies of people.
