We are looking for an experienced Coordinator to join the SIS Co-ordination Team.
If you have experience of customer care, great communication skills, a passion for making a difference, and a desire to work in a small but very busy team, then this is the perfect role for you.
Sussex Interpreting Services is a social enterprise and registered charity based in Brighton.
We work in partnership with the NHS, Local Authorities and other charities to ensure people with language support needs have full access to publicly funded services.
We help 4500 people across Sussex, and deliver Community Interpreting, Translation, Advocacy, Social Prescribing, Befriending, Health Promotion and Community Engagement. Our services have been critical to safeguarding diverse communities during the pandemic. We are very proud of our track record.
The principle purpose of the role is to work as part of a Coordination Team at the heart of interpreting and translation service delivery, dealing with telephone and online customer requests and liaising with freelance community interpreters and translators. This is a fast paced, demanding and constantly responsive environment.
We are looking for a highly organised and customer focused individual, with initiative and excellent communication and diplomacy skills. You should possess good IT skills and have fast and accurate data entry competency. You will need to work closely with three other Co-ordinators and must be an active team player with a can-do approach, someone who can stimulate colleagues to work co-operatively and problem solve together.
You will have a good understanding of the social care and health needs within culturally diverse communities, and a commitment to our Vision, Mission and Values.
If you feel you have the required knowledge, skills and experience we encourage you to apply – experience of working in a language environment may be helpful but is not essential.
Additional staff benefits include; friendly working environment, central Brighton location and/ or remote working, 29 days annual leave (pro rata), additional paid carers & dependents leave, access to a generous company contributory pension scheme (5% employee contribution matched by an 11% employer contribution).
Note: It is SIS policy that new employees are appointed to the bottom of the salary scale range applicable to the post.
The successful candidate will be required to work on Monday and Friday 9am to 5pm.
