Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA), runs a range of projects aimed at supporting the involvement of the whole of the community. SCDA and Lewes District Council have recently designed a new Sompriti Project to assess the impact of Covid 19 on people from a wide range of culturally-diverse heritages who have been disproportionately affected. We have an exciting opportunity for a Sompriti Development Worker to lead on this community engagement project within the Lewes District to collaboratively collect peoples’ experiences.

With a clear, community-led approach, the Sompriti Development Worker will engage and work in collaboration with individuals and groups of diverse heritages to gather information relating to their experiences during Covid 19. This shall be done within the changing engagement methods necessitated by the impact of Covid-19. The aim of the project is to increase the involvement of people of East Asian and South East Asian heritage, people of African or Caribbean heritage, people who are ethnically diverse and people who experience racism in the shaping and development of statutory and voluntary services and wider community participation.
