Sussex Prisoners’ Families are recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated Volunteer Services Coordinator to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment of Volunteers, coordinating and training our volunteers, developing our volunteer strategy and policies and the effective facilitation of referrals on to our family support services. Volunteers play a vital role in Sussex Prisoners’ Families, supporting families in the criminal courts, prisons and communities of Sussex. We love the passion and commitment of our volunteers and they get a unique experience within the criminal justice system with us, building new skills, developing new knowledge and increasing in confidence. We encourage people with lived experience of the criminal justice sector to volunteer with us and we provide additional support when needed.
This is an exciting opportunity which requires a high level of initiative and drive, reaching out to engage our communities across a wide geographic area. We are looking for people to join our small, dedicated and energetic team who will bring experience of coordinating/ organising volunteer recruitment, training and policy. You will be joining Sussex Prisoners’ Families at a special time as we seek to grow our services, and design new ways of working with and alongside families affected by imprisonment. You will be instrumental in building our volunteering model which supports prisoners’ families in Sussex and we welcome applicants who have ideas, imagination and creativity.
Location: These roles are based in Brighton, but Sussex Prisoners’ Families supports flexible working including working from home.
Volunteer Coordinator:
• Rate of pay: NJC SCP 18, £24,982 Full Time Equivalent:
• 22.5 hours per week over 3 or 4 days (with occasional weekend and evening work).
• This a fixed term contract for one year (from take up of post) with an extension dependent upon funding.
