For 47 years BWC has been supporting women across Sussex through our Women’s Centre in Brighton and Hove and through our community Women’s Hubs across the county. BWC Women’s Accommodation Support Service (WASS) delivers support for women who are homeless or insecurely housed, with the overarching aim of supporting women to secure and sustain safe accommodation and improve their access to a range of services. With this role we are looking to expand the same holistic support service model across Sussex and into Kent.
The role of the Women’s Accommodation Support Service Senior Practitioner, is to manage the day-to-day operations of WASS, support the delivery of our Weekly Women’s Hub and manage a caseload of women. As an experienced practitioner you will have experience in providing bespoke, intensive, personalised support which encompasses a range of financial, health, social and relationship needs. Many of the women WASS support have experience of Domestic abuse. The Senior Practitioner will therefore need to be IDVA qualified or willing to achieve IDVA qualification to support the Service Manager to provide Domestic Abuse advice and support to both Service Users and the wider WASS team.
Salary grade: £28,785 pro rata
Contract Details: Fixed Term until March 2023.
Working hours: 24 hours per week within normal office hours 9am – 5pm. Occasional out of hours may be required.
Work Location: WASS staff will be based in Brighton, West Sussex and East Sussex and West Kent. Travel across Sussex and West Kent will be expected.
