On Monday 16 March 2020, pregnancy was rated high-risk for Covid and Muma Nurture closed our clinic. Volunteers had until appointments started on Wednesday 18 March 2020 to adapt services to online, learn how to use the new system themselves and inform all clients!
What did your volunteers do?
Adapted services online at very short notice to continue to provide support for those affected by infertility, pregnancy and baby loss, a group very affected by the Covid pandemic. Since March 2020 we have provided more than 400 counselling sessions and been able to support everyone that has contacted us and asked for it.
How did your volunteers make a difference?
Their willingness to adapt their way of working and find a way forward meant we have been able to continue support services throughout (for which demand has steadily risen throughout the pandemic) with minimal disruption to clients.
